“A New Creation”

SUP With Me: Words of Inspiration

2 Corinthians 5:17

Beholding God’s truth about you first begins with believing what He has stated. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come.”

God is declaring that when we enter into relationship with Him, being reconciled unto Him, the old is gone and behold the new is now present. With the new comes a spirit of anticipation that God is going to do something new in us!

Before submitting ourselves to Christ Jesus, we were simply living beings, but dead spiritually (this is the old). However, when we enter into relationship with Christ Jesus, there is an awakening and we become alive (this is the new).

Through continual fellowship with Christ Jesus, there is a transition in our spiritual palate. We no longer hunger and thirst after the desires of our flesh, instead we begin to hunger and thirst after our righteousness which is Jesus our Lord. Our hearts begin to long for His will for our lives, our ears anticipate hearing what He speaks, our eyes long to see what He wants to reveal to us.

This transition is called Sanctification through the Spirit of God. It is this very process that identifies us as Children of God! No longer do we desire the world and the things of it, but we desire Gods will for our lives. This newness is our heart being unified with Christ Jesus that we too may think even as He desires, having a heart of humility and spirit of obedience. The word states in Philippians 2:5 CBS, “Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.” Another version is the KJV (Philippians 2:5), “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

Embrace the new creation that God has made you to be, don’t resist the renewing of your mind and spirit in Him. In living out this newness in Christ Jesus, we will experience many changes such as our matters of conversations becoming Godly and glorifying Him, our taste for things that once polluted our bodies will be replaced with things that bring about wellness to our temples, our perceptions of people and situations will not be of the flesh, but God’s view and how He sees it. This change is identified as Fruitfulness, benefiting your spirit and it continues as we seek God and His righteousness!

Remember, we are a new creation no longer enslaved to sin and the pressures of this world, but we have a savior that has awakened our spirits and pre-destined us to walk as His from the very beginning of this world. The veil has been lifted and the heart and mind restored unto our God and His rule and reign. So, walk in the power and authority that God has given you, walk in victory, walk in Boldness and Courage, walk as a redeemed Child of God, walk as the chosen and walk in the New!
