Know Who I Am: The Many Names of GOD

Upon our acceptance of Jesus Christ in our lives and as we grow as Christians, we become aware of the many names of God. Today, we will focus on the name: “Jehovah Uzzi”

Knowing Jehovah Uzzi: The Lord Our Strength

Have you ever been without strength; having feelings of helplessness, vulnerability and weakness? I believe that at some point in our lives, we all have or will experience this feeling, but thank God that it is just that, a feeling. God’s truth tells me that He is my strength, so even though my circumstances and conditions around me may be affecting me in a negative way, the truth is that God is my strength. In this very moment, we must call out to Him in prayer to be our salvation. We must call Him by name (Jehovah Uzzi- The Lord my Strength). Now isn’t this great? Our Lord has identified Himself to be the very help that we would all one day, if not every day, need. Let us not be discouraged when various trials and tribulations come into our lives, instead let us feed the truth that God is our strength, and deprive the temptation to feed into our feelings. These feelings often time subtly draw us further away from God’s truth.

We must gird up our minds and always remember to connect our spirit with the reassurance that if God is for us then who can be against us. In Psalm 28:6-7, the psalmist David reflected on God’s truth and sought Him to be his savior and the very strength in which He needed.

6Blessed be the Lord for he has heard the sound of my pleading

7The Lord is my strength and my shied; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.

Psalm 28:6-7

Our faith in God is what we need to apply at all times, so that we may witness the Glory of the Lord being our strength in those very moments of: lowliness, weakness, helplessness and vulnerability. God’s love is so great that He wants to supply all of our needs and support us in everyway possible. Reflect on Psalm 28:8 and let this be our reminder of our great Lords truth, “The Lord is the strength of His people, He is a stronghold of salvation for His anointed.”
