SUP With Me: Words of Inspiration
WE MUST ABIDE
Abiding in Christ is a non-negotiable if we are to stay steadfast in our faith and have access to the kingdom of God.
John 15:4
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me.”
John 15:7
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.”
You are identified as a Child of God by the fruit that you bear.
It is to the glory of the Father that we bear much fruit, by this we are identified as disciples of Christ Jesus. (John 15:8)
GOOD FRUIT IS LOVE
How do we remain in the love of Christ?
We remain in the love of Christ Jesus by keeping His commandments out of obedience to His will. The Lord’s will and commandment is for us to Love one another as He has loved us.
John 15:10
“If you keep my commandments you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in His love.”
John 15:12
“This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.”
How do we express our love for Christ?
We express our love for Christ through our obedience to His word (The Holy Bible), which honors Him. When we are disobedient and reject His word, there is no reverence to His deity or Lordship over our lives; no expression of our love for Him.
John 14:23
“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We shall come to him and make Our home with him.”
WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN IDENTITY
How are we identified as friends of God?
We must do what the Lord commands us to do.
John 15:13-14
“A man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. Here is the condition- You are my friends, if you do what I command you.
CHRIST’S DISCIPLES ARE COMMISSIONED WITH A PURPOSE
John 15:16
Christ’s disciples are who He has chosen and commissioned to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last.
Bearing fruit results in granted access and then (order matters) the Father will give you anything you ask in His name.
Good fruit yields a good reward.
Strength for the Journey begins when we acknowledge our role as a disciple of Christ Jesus. We must read and study the word of God to know His standard of living for His people. God has already given us what we need, but how can we truly comprehend and receive it without building our knowledge and understanding His plan and purpose for us. As we read and seek the face of God, by His Spirit He will direct, strengthen, and confirm His very word.
Therefore, you will live purposeful in truth, with direction and obedience to the will of God each and every day.
