SUP With Me: Words of Inspiration
Genesis Chapter 12:1-3, CSB
1 The LORD said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
Genesis 12:1-3, CSB
In Genesis chapter 12, God promised to bless Abram (later known as Abraham) and make his name great. He also stated that through Abram, others would be blessed and He would bless those who blessed Abram. We must know that even today, it is great to be a blessing to others, for we are blessed.
We are blessed through our Faith unto God and our Obedience to His word and will for our lives. God’s word contains the promises that are released to us. God told Abram to leave his land and his family, to pursue a place that He would show him. Abram displayed great Faith, as he didn’t know exactly where he would be going; neither was he concerned about how he would get there, what would be there, what he was leaving behind or how long he would be there. Abram simply trusted God at His word. This shows us that God’s word is sufficient, it is enough and it will carry us through.
The Lord delights in those who are Faithful to Him.
People rarely make a move or take action without knowing the exact plan, every step along the way and the end result. This is the opposite of Faith. (Hebrews 11:1 CSB 1 Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.) We must, like Abram, move when God says move and trust that He will protect us and has already equipped us for what He is leading us to do. Our decision to follow God doesn’t only lead to our blessings, but results in others being blessed and their Faith increased, through our Obedience to God.
God’s Spoken Word + Faith + Obedience = Blessings
