SUP With Me: Words of Inspiration
Impatience and perception of difficulty for waiting on things, people, or situations, is rampant in this world. This is due to the strong desire of instant satisfaction, and the intense eagerness for self-gratification.
God tells us to live in the world but not be of it, this is because we are set apart. The way we perceive waiting should be different and should be considered a positive. It’s not a punishment, but more so an opportunity to witness the hand of God move and a chance to witness the salvation of the Lord.
In Psalm 27, David the psalmist was facing many enemies rising up against him. However, David still proclaimed that the Lord was His light, salvation, and stronghold. He knew this truth and that there was no reason to fear.
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1 (KJV)
When God is your refuge, you never have to be afraid. He has seen the enemy before you have, and He knows just what the end will be, victory. We must wait on the Lord for He loves us. David was confident in this truth and expressed it in Psalm 27: 13-14.
Psalm 27:13-14
13I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. 14Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
Don’t be shaken by the enemy, for God is your safe place. Seek Him and experience the reward in waiting; your Victory!
