It’s Pruning Season

John 15:2

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Seasons come and go and there is a guarantee that nothing will be the same when transitioning from one to the other and as each season reoccurs year by year. Flowers may bloom with more buds the coming spring season, the leaves on the tree may be a little fuller and provide more shade this year or the grass may be a bit greener and feel like a lush carpet under your feet. Season by season can also result in a negative aspect of these changes. The flowers could wilt this year instead of bloom, the tree could lose it’s leaves without return of new replacements and the grass could become diseased and have brown patches throughout. Either way, seasons produce what they will in the duration in which they are present.

There’s one thing common about all these examples. Actions of preparation must take place before entering into the next season. In order to maintain and improve on the positivity of the former examples or recover from the negativity of the latter examples, a process must be completed to ensure the next season will be better than the last. This process doesn’t only relate to the things of nature but also to our spiritual life. The Lord wants the best for us and wants to see His children flourish and produce fruit, if we let Him. Don’t continue to carry the old or same fruits from season to season, let God prune the old from your spirit so you can reap what it is He has for you. What He will allow to come forward in our lives is on a much larger scale than what we can even imagine for ourselves. You cannot move to the next chapter in life if you keep re-reading the previous one(s).

CHARGED BUT NOT GUILTY

John 19:17

17Jesus taken to the place of the Skull (in Aramaic called Golgotha) to be crucified for claiming to be the Son of Man

Jesus showed His love for man despite their impurities, in this I find no charge.

Jesus submitted His life to completing the will of His Heavenly Father, in this I find no charge.

Jesus was willing to be persecuted, beaten, talked about, mistreated, all for the sinner man, in this I find no charge.

My life lived apart from Christ Jesus, charge found,

My life following the lust of my flesh, charge found,

My life lived disregarding the finished work that Christ Jesus completed for me, charge found.

Christ Jesus has done what no other could ever do, He paid a price that no one could ever afford, no not one. Christ Jesus gave Himself as a ransom for a lost soul like me to be saved, set free, healed and delivered. He is the very bridge that has reunited me to my Holy and Righteous God. It is through the blood of Jesus and His sacrifice, that I and those that choose to believe in Him, are received as Righteous, Upright, a Child of God, Redeemed, Beautiful and Chosen. Ephesians 1:4 “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy blameless in His sight.” It is through Christ Jesus that we are sealed, have salvation and the promised Holy Spirit. In Christ Jesus we are created new, sanctified and set-apart for His will and purpose.

So, if anyone should have been found guilty it should have been me. If anyone should have been crucified because of sin, it should have been me. Thanks be to the Lord of my salvation. Thanks be to God for sending His son to display His love for me. Thanks be to Jesus for living as the light, pure, Holy, Righteous and perfect without blame. Thanks be for Christ Jesus hanging on the cross to bear my sin and yours. Thanks be to God for rising on the 3rd day with all POWER and AUTHORITY in His hand. Thanks be to Jesus for being the truth, the way and the life. Thanks be to Jesus for Eternal Life!

A charge Jesus took for you and I all because His love was and is greater, stronger and powerful to conqueror and withstand all things, that we may be ALIVE in Him!

Having Faith for Success

Kids’ Edition

Isaiah 40:31 NIV

31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

This scripture is telling us that when we have faith in the Lord, we will have success. For example, Abraham had faith in the Lord that Sarah would still give birth to their son, Isaac, despite their old age. What you can see in this example is that Abraham and Sarah had success which was Isaac because they had faith in God. Also, we have to have faith with everything we do in our daily lives. We have to have faith to get a good grade on that test, we have to have faith that God will come through when we are ill, we have to have faith in God that He will provide us with are needs. So, I hope you have faith in the Lord so you will have success.

Job 9:4

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

From the words of Job himself, a righteous and upright man, who we know endured the unimaginable, Job Chapter 9 gives an account of his response to Bildad’s rebuke and accusation of Job’s sin, due to the negative things that had occurred in his life.

Life at times may seem unfair and negative events may take place. We never deem ourselves as deserving of anything bad happening in our lives but the bottom line is, they happen. Although Job was a righteous and blameless man, some of the most horrendous things that we can think of occurred in his life. In the times of Job, it was thought that the only way that these things could possibly happen, would be a result of living a life full of sin resulting in wrath from God.

For Job, this was not the case. He was innocent and God Himself knew he wouldn’t fall to sin or the temptation to curse Him after these events. Job had passed the test of faith, although he questioned God why, he did not curse or sin against Him. He did not harden himself against God.

When we have decided to take this Christian journey, we WILL face trials, tribulations and tests but to continue to prosper, we must not harden ourselves against God. In Job’s stand against many who felt that he should curse God, his lost fortune was restored and he was given twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10).

So, don’t let the circumstances of life separate you from the true love, protection and restoration of God and His son Jesus Christ.

Trading my afflictions for freedom in Christ Jesus!

Mark 2:10

Jesus the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins.

Mark 2:5

Jesus forgave the paralytic man of his sins because the Faith that was shown.

Mark 2:11

Jesus instructed the man to get up, take his mat and go home.

The paralytic man was not just healed physically, but spiritually. Jesus with the authority that he has was gracious and merciful to forgive his sins and heal his body.

We cannot deny the saving power of Christ Jesus. However, we must identify the truth and effects of sin, which causes affliction and God does not desire for us to be entangled and bound by sin. Affliction, the pain and suffering that we choose to endure out of disobedience to God, can be loosed off our lives when we decide to put our faith in the one that has the authority to forgive our sins who is Christ Jesus.

Choose to be loosed from the chains of sin and be liberated through Christ Jesus.

John 8:34

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”

John 8:35

Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

John 8:36

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Live free and whole in the beauty of Christ Jesus!

Spending Time with God in Secret

Matthew 6:6
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

In this scripture it tells us to basically spend time with God. In this time with God, we talk to Him, we can do this with prayer. We also can read our bible; God can speak to us with His word. We have to spend time with God because He might need to prepare us for a situation in the future. In addition, we have to spend time with God constantly. When we think we’re busy, we’re really not because we can push that video game time out of the way, we can push that news on the TV out of the way, we can even spend time with God with family.

Also, this scripture tells us how to spend time with God. It says to pray behind closed doors, this means God wants us to pray to Him in secret. When you pray in secret, God will reward you. So, I hope you take this scripture in and spend time with God in secret so he will reward you openly.

John 15:16 KJV

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

As young beings in childhood and throughout life, we learn that we have choices. We have a choice of what food we want to eat, what clothes we want to wear, what car we want to drive, where we want to take a vacation, who we want to become for a career and the list goes on. This often makes it challenging when one decides to live life in Jesus and transition into their Christian walk. Why you say? We have spent our lives from tender ages learning how to make choices on so many things, that we may have a hard time accepting that we are actually “chosen” by God, by Jesus himself. He has just been waiting for us to realize that He is the one who has appointed us to represent Him and to spread His gospel by bringing forth fruit, fruit that should remain.

In John 15, just as Jesus gave this insight to His disciples in this current time in scripture, it applies to us today. We also become disciples of Christ once we accept Him in our lives and in our hearts. We have to lose sight of self and let go of the mentality that “I can do that on my own” or “I’ll make the choice without consulting God.” In Christ Jesus, we have an advocate for ourselves to the Father, God, and whatsoever we ask in Jesus name, He will give us. Let us not be distracted by all the things that we can make choices on in the world but let us be led by the true plan and purpose that God wants for our lives. We may lose acceptance from the world when we decide to follow the ways of the Lord and lead a life that He has ordained. Have hope, as John 15:19 states:

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.   

Live knowing that there is greater reward in walking with Jesus than that of the world. Accept Him into your heart if you haven’t and accept the love and promises of walking with Christ.

Romans 10:9-10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

A Life of Love and Devotion

1 John 1:5 tells us that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.  We are God’s creation created in His likeness and image as stated in Genesis 1:26-27. Our love for God is to be expressed through us mirroring or reflecting who He is. Therefore, if He is Light then we too shall display this truth in all that we do. In fact, this is a true expression of our Love and reverence for God.  When we believe this truth, then we become intentional about abiding in the Lord that He may abide in us. For it is Christ Jesus that is pure and He is the only one who is able to purify us. 1 John 3:5-6 tells us that Christ Jesus was revealed to take away our sins and in Him is no sin. So, whosoever abides in Him sins not, whosoever sins have not seen Him, neither known Him.

Jesus was revealed to destroy the works of the devil whose desire is for us to live in sin, but know that we have a savior that Loves us and declared to those who chose to believe in Him, that we are free. We have been liberated from the yoke of bondage and now have the opportunity to live a blessed life devoted to God in Holiness and Righteousness.

Yes, temptation will be present, but it is God that has provided a way to escape it and that is choosing to deny the flesh and remember whose you are. Yes, evil is present, but you still have a choice to believe that you can be the Light in the midst of the darkness. Our Lord has declared us to be more than conquerors, victorious and overcomers, so believe this truth. You do not have to be a slave to sin, perverse thoughts or actions. Christ Jesus views you as greater. Devote your heart to Him and witness the glory of the Lord in your life!

Luke 13:10-13

10 On a sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

In this scripture we see that this woman with a terrible illness has been bound for eighteen years. Jesus sees this woman and the scripture says that Jesus called her forward and said, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Once Jesus said this and put His hands on her, she was immediately healed and delivered. Through this she was set free from the spirit that was in her, those chains that were keeping her bound were broken. So now we know that Jesus can set us free because He has all power and authority in His hands.

No Fear in Mind

We, at some point or several times in our lives, have been subjected to a spiritual attack from the enemy. Naturally, these attacks may bring about feelings of fear, hopelessness, a lack of confidence or even defeat. This is exactly what the enemy wants to achieve, in his attempt to displace us from the face of the Lord and tear us from the will, plan and purpose that He has set forward for us all.

We must realize and remember that the attack of the enemy is an attack on the spirit and mind. Our mind is the starting point of a thought, this thought may lead to emotions and feelings, which lead to a choice and ultimately action. If we let the attack of the enemy prevail against us, no matter how severe the attack, we have let go of the Faith that we have in our Lord, God and savior Jesus Christ. Once we fall in our minds, we have dismissed the very acts of Jesus Christ that provides us our Salvation. This is what the enemy desires so that we will turn against our God.

Psalm 27:2-3 (NIV) 2 When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. 3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident

Instead, let us take heed to the words of David in Psalm 27:2-3, that we will not fear when the attacks come but we will be confident because we know that our Lord has reign and rule over Satan, the enemy. Anyone or anything working for him to come against us will stumble and fall. A portion of Proverbs 23:7 tells us that as you think, you will become. So, avoid the negative thoughts that may be brought on by these attacks and instead do as Paul says in Philippians chapter 4.

Philippians 4:6-8 (NIV) 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

This holds true even in the midst of attacks from the enemy, so be encouraged and have confidence that Satan can’t prevail against you child of God.
